Soy Wax

Hydrogenation Process: The process of hydrogenating soybean oil turns it into a solid fat, which is what forms soy wax. During hydrogenation, the unsaturated fats in the oil are turned into saturated fats, which gives the wax its solid state at room temperature.

Melting Point: Soy wax’s melting point is usually lower than paraffin wax, making it a softer material that requires special handling if you're looking for a firmer wax. However, as you mentioned, certain additives like stearin can help increase the melting point for higher performance in candles.

Density: The density of soy wax being lower than water means it is less heavy and helps it burn cleanly. It also contributes to soy wax’s excellent ability to hold fragrance oils and provide an even burn.
